Seasoned Larch
Softwood
Larch is a dense softwood that burns longer than most softwoods, although slightly quicker than hardwood. It produces strong heat and is ideal for modern, efficient log burners.
Not suitable for open fires due to its resin content.
Oak
Hardwood
Oak is one of the best hardwoods for firewood, offering a slow, steady burn and excellent long-lasting heat when properly seasoned.
Ideal for wood-burning stoves and open fires where consistent warmth and an efficient burn are key.

Beech
Hardwood
Beech naturally has a high moisture content, so proper seasoning is essential.
Once fully seasoned, it makes excellent firewood, producing strong, consistent heat with a clean, steady burn.
Ash
Hardwood
Ash is considered one of the best firewoods, with a naturally low moisture content.
It can burn steadily when green, but performs at its best when it is properly seasoned.
Sycamore
Hardwood
Sycamore is an easy-burning hardwood that seasons relatively quickly, making it a practical choice for everyday use.
Sycamore's heat output is moderate compared with denser woods such as oak and ash.
Rooted in
British Woodland
We believe quality firewood should be sourced responsibly and as locally as possible. While increasing amounts of kiln-dried timber are imported from overseas, our round timber is sourced from managed woodlands across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, helping to reduce unnecessary transport and support local forestry and jobs.
Using home-grown British timber also plays an important role in supporting sustainable woodland management. Well-managed British woodlands provide a renewable source of timber while helping create healthy habitats where native plants and wildlife can thrive.
By choosing locally sourced firewood, our customers are supporting a more sustainable approach to timber, British forestry and the future of our woodlands.
