Westfield Firewood is a small, family run business supplying seasoned hardwood logs to York and the surrounding areas, we have experience in timber going back over 20 years.
The Environment
The world demands sustainable materials and the government growth, environmental and climate change policies now call for the use of more home grown sustainable timber. More and more kiln dried timber is being imported from abroad which is damaging for the environment, We buy our round timber from managed woodland in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire which helps support local jobs.
Well managed British woodland is key to the future of the industry and provides the best flora and fauna for our woodland.
Our Logs
Our round timber is left to season for 12 months before being split into logs and stored.
Our timber is mainly oak, beech, ash, sycamore and silver birch.
The standard length is 8 inches however longer lengths can be cut on request. Logs are supplied in loose loads or bulk bags.
Ready to Burn registered
I am a registered supplier of the Woodsure Ready to Burn scheme which means my seasoned firewood has a moisture content of 20% or less.
